How to Get Your Tennessee Driving Record
To obtain your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in Tennessee, you can choose one of the following methods:
- Online: Visit the e-Services portal, pay $5 by credit/debit card and provide your name, date of birth, driver license number and Social Security number. Prepaid cards are not accepted.
- In Person: Go to any Driver Services Center with the required information. If someone else retrieves your MVR, they need a notarized authorization from you. The cost is $5.
- By Mail: Send your request, including your name, date of birth, driver license number, address for mailing and a $5 cashier's check or money order, to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. Allow two weeks for processing.
The MVR includes your driving history for the past three to 10 years and excludes personal address information, as protected by federal privacy laws.
